Lisan (lisanuae.com) is a job board for the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares.
- Job seeker profile: phone number, languages and levels, expected salary, visa status, availability and the CV you upload.
- Applications: the details above that you send to an employer, plus any note you add.
- Employer data: company name, trade licence number, emirate, sector, phone and website, and the jobs and walk-in events you publish.
- Technical data: basic logs needed to keep the service secure and working. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run your account and show you jobs with a fit score.
- To send your application, including your CV, only to the employer of the job you apply for.
- To check employers before their jobs go live and to remove fake or unlawful listings.
- To answer your questions and keep the service secure.
Who can see your data
Your profile is private. An employer sees your details and CV only when you apply to one of their jobs. Lisan's administrators can access data to run and protect the service. Our service providers store data for us under contract: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage) and Cloudflare (website hosting). Google is involved only if you choose Google sign-in. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may store data on servers outside the UAE. We use providers that apply recognised security safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Applications are kept for up to 24 months after they are sent, so employers can review them, and then deleted. You can withdraw an application at any time from your profile.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Most details can be edited directly in your profile. For anything else, email and we will reply within 30 days.
Security
CVs are stored privately and shared only through short-lived links. Access to every table is controlled by security rules in the database.
